Why Choose Epworth...

From the banks of the historic Frederica River to the breathtaking Atlantic Ocean, your wedding at Lovely Lane Chapel on the grounds of Epworth By The Sea will provide the environment you've been dreaming about. Lovely Lane Chapel was constructed in 1880. The magnificent stained glass windows are irreplaceable pieces of Old English Art Glass. Because of the historic charm and natural beauty of the chapel, very little decoration is required. The appealing entrance to Lovely Lane Chapel provides a beautiful backdrop for the bride to begin her walk down the aisle as her entrance is framed by magnificent stained Old English Art Glass windows. With mild weather all year round, the grounds of Epworth By The Sea are always beautiful. Enjoy a beautiful stroll through island gardens or a stroll along the Rush River Walk for a quiet moment together before greeting family and friends for a reception in the Pioneer Room of the D. Abbott Turner Lodge. Epworth By The Sea offers the perfect setting for your dream wedding.

Our Mission

Epworth by the Sea is a hospitality ministry serving all whose goals are consistent with our mission, which is to provide a Christian place for worship, study and fellowship.

It is named Epworth by the Sea in honor of the boyhood home of brothers John and Charles Wesley, founders of the Methodist revival movement from Epworth, England. Both John and Charles were Anglican priests who volunteered as missionaries to the colony of Georgia in its founding days.
